The Old Station, Tintern
The Old Station Tintern is situated in the Wye Valley - Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), 9km north of CHEPSTOW on A466 (S0 536 006). The site is owned and managed by Monmouthshire County Council Countryside Section and was open as a Countryside Visitor Centre in 1975.
There are three railway carriages on site. In one is an exhibition on the history of the railway and a DVD presentation takes you on a ‘ride up the Wye Valley Line’ and tells you more about the Circle of Legends wood carvings of local mythical or historical characters which form part of a series of walks throughout Monmouthshire. Another carriage contains a gift shop.
